i've been trying to make sure each day to find some time for one on one time for cole. hes done such an amazing job with adjusting to olivia. he really is enjoying some one on one time with brad and me. he's become such a big boy and such a sweetie.

of course these first four weeks have flown by!! our little girl is a month old already. luckily, her reflux is getting better with the medicine, so we are even getting some sleep. she does a good job holding her head up. she just adores cole though! she watches him and is so alert when she is awake.

since cole's cuosins were in town and there was a snow storm coming we decided to go get snowed in with them in dushore. one house + four kids = insanity!! cole had a blast though. olivia is having a really rough time in the evenings. she's having screaming fits that last hours. i spoke to the doctor over the phone and they think it is reflux so hopefully the medicine will help her out! she took the time though to enjoy her first snow!!

cole wanted to help give olivia her bath today. at first i was worried how it would go but he did great. he helped wash her and rinse her and refrained from all the splashing he normally does. after the bath he helped dry her and even gave her some kisses!

thank goodness she loves her brother already! he is olivia obsessed. he wants to be near her most of the time. he likes to hold her, kiss her, and show her all of his toys. today she was crying with pain and he wanted to give her medicine to make her all better.

today was olivia's two week check-up. i took her to the doctor and was less than happy to get there to be in a room full of sick kids. typically in the afternoons they only have "well" visits. we stayed as secluded as we could since there is a bad rsv outbreak in our area.
she's our little peanut! she now weighs 8lbs, 2oz and is 21" long. that's about 30% for weight and around 50% for height.

lots of firsts

this weekend was a lot of firsts! cole took his first trip without us. he went with grandma kay down to dc with aunt amy and cat to visit nick, liz, welles, and clare. he had a great time swimming at the hotel and visiting the smithsonian!
meanwhile we stayed at home. there were lots of naps and movie watching! olivia also got her first bath!

today was spent in pjs! we watched some movies and did some cuddling. cole wasn't in the mood to have his picture taken with olivia today, but he was more than happy to let me take it of just him. he now likes to say cheese and make the cheesey face too!

it has been so cold here and there are so many illnesses going around that we have pretty much been hibernating! we were all going a little stir crazy today, so we decided to take cole swimming. you can swim at the local hotel for a fee. cole loves swimming! he had a blast swimming with brad. olivia and i watched, ok i watched. olivia slept through the whole thing!

so far so good. we were lucky enough that gram came up to help with things while we were in the hospital and was even able to stay a couple extra days. it not only helped brad and i, it was a huge help to cole. so far he's doing pretty well with her. he seems to like her. he wants to hold her and give her kisses too. he needs some work though on remembering to be gentle when playing near her. today she took a wooden truck to the head and has her first injury from her big brother. she took it like a champ though!

the good news about crappy insurance is they kick you out of the hospital 48 hour after a c-section. the bad news is you have to deal with the stairs at home and the excited little boy that just doesn't understand that jumping on mommy is a bad idea. this is little miss. olivia getting ready to leave the hospital!

today was the day we became a family of four. this pregnancy flew by and now olivia kaylee is here! the past week has done nothing but allow me to realize how truly lucky we are as a family. and now we have another sweet baby. she came out screaming and didn't stop for some time. she is going to be quite vocal compared to her brother. she loves to have her hands near her face. she immeditaly took to nursing and has been sleeping well too! she came out with HUGE cheeks but they were swollen and have since gone down. her head was lodged down in my pelvic bone, jsut like i told brad it was. she has a bruise on her head and a mark on her nose. we aren't sure yet if the mark will go away or be her birth mark. here she is....

time has flown by! olivia is scheduled to come on tuesday, in two days! we have been busy getting things done and caught up at home, in my business, and even on this blog. i know i have lately fallen so behind, i promise to try to do better. we spent several hours friday evening in labor and delivery. i am having frequent contractions, but none big enough to truly matter yet! the good news is it gave me some time to get things in her room 100% complete. we are all set to bring our little girl home now! cole checks her room every day sometimes multiple times to ask "where baby?". we both hope this is an easy transition for him and that he will love her tons!

cole has been building towers for some time, however as soon as they get three levels high he can not fight the urge to knock it down! however today he was so proud of his tower he made me take a picture so he could show daddy as soon as he woke up!

brad and i were both up before cole this morning. we were so excited for him to wake up and to see what santa brought him. when he finally woke and we went downstairs he started to look at the gifts under the tree but then he noticed the train table! he was so excited, he's been asking for one for over a month. he played with the train table for a goor 45 minutes before we could pull him away to open any other gifts. we had a great morning in out pjs playing with new toys and even taking a break to watch his new dinosaur movie. it as such a great xmas!

cole has been such a good boy that santa sent him an early xmas gift! he sent us tickets to go see finding nemo live on ice. we ended up with front row center seats, there was no possible way to have better seats!! we weren't sure if he would enjoy it or be able to sit through the show since the show started at his bedtime. however he loved it. he was into every second of it!

in the hopes of getting cole out a bit more we have been going to some events with a moms group. this week we went to jumping jungle which has a ton of blow up bouncy things and slides. cole had a great time running around like a wild man and fell asleep as soon as he made it into his car seat!

this weekend we celebrated xmas a little early with everyone in nj! i have been so excited about xmas with cole this year and it truly was great! he had a blast opening his gifts. as you might notice there was an outfit change half way through the gifts. he loved the toy story shirt aunt brooke and uncle jon got him and his other favorite gift was his hess race car from gram and poppy!

this weekend we took a family trip down to maryland for the baptism of welles. cole had a good time playing with his cousin clare as well as running around the hotel room. he looked sharp for the baptism in his little dress shirt!

we started off the halloween night by going to the annual halloween parade for the kids. cole was not impressed. he was very quiet and not interested at all. he did pep up until we walked out the door. we only hit up a few houses in town, because he was tired. however everyone went way overboard with the amount they gave him that cole has plenty to share with us.

for some off reason, the town where we live does not do halloween on actual halloween. i found that to be really odd since this year it fell on a friday. instead though, we went trick or treating the night before. we took cole over to go trick or treating with ella. the two of them were so cute. they waited for each othr to go up to the doors, they said trick or treat, and they even held hands. they are such great little friends.

we decided to go to nj to spend some time with aunt brooke while she was home from work waiting on baby parker's arrival. somehow things were so hectic at home we missed being able to go pumpkin picking, so we went with aunt brooke and uncle jon. cole has a good time running around trying to push the pumpkin cart and riding in the cart. it took a little coaxing for him to pick the actual pumpkins but eventually he did!

i recently realized, that it had been over a year since i actually did a "photo session" of cole. i felt kind of bad, considering how many other kids and families i have had sessions of this past year. i took cole out to the local cemetery, which is truly gorgeous in the fall for some pictures. he had a blast running all over the place. this is my baby, who has truly become a little boy!

late last night the ups man delivered a special birthday package for cole, so he woke up to a special surprise. pop-pop and lynnie sent him a birthday mickey mouse which he squealed over. he had a blast all day playing with the box and tissue paper all day. but once bedtime came all he wanted was his mickey mouse. i had to tuck them both in for bed!

this is one of my favorite pictures of cole now. im not sure how i never posted it, but its from our trip to seattle this summer. the first night there was a little rough for cole. typically, he is a great sleeper. but i think after the long flight, the new house and people, and having kay and me in the room he just could not fall asleep. he kept tossing and turning and fussing. finally i got him and tried to lay him in bed with me and he actually slept! he never sleeps with me, he always wants his own bed since we was a baby. i loved waking up to see this....

this weekend we decided to take advantage of no commitments and do some fun things with cole. yesterday we took him to the zoo. somehow the summer had slipped by and we barely went there at all this year. he seemed to really like it and he walked most of the way! today we took him to knoebels. its an amusement park with no entry fee. you just pay for the rides. we were blown away by how affordable everything was. we spent $50 for the three of us on rides, snacks, and lunch. cole loved the rides. he would scream "weeeee" on the ones he really liked.

unfortunately this past week when we went for our big ultrasound they were unable to tell us the babys gender 100%. initially, they said it's a girl but then took it back. if you know me well you know that drove me crazy. i already had bedding options picked and needed to know the gender so i could start planning! if that wasn't bad enough the doctor told me we would have to wait 12 more weeks to find out. i was so stressed out. finally brad and i decided to save his sanity, i would go to nj and have an elective u/s done. so now we know... it's a GIRL. this is our little olivia kaylee.

today cole went with me to a photo session, that we i had with some friends. he had a good time exploring the park and flirting with all of the girls. he was kept quite busy by the swings too, which was nice because then i didn't have to worry about where he was running off too!

mr. adventurer has always been hesitant about slides. on the rare occasions we have been able to get him to go down one he flips over on his belly and holds on for dear life. today though he conquered his slide fear. he has finally started going down the slide all by himself!

we've been working on some potty training. some days cole has interest other days not so much. today he used the potty four times though and we are so proud! while walking around he felt the need to put his hat on and grab his bag. he kept heading to the door to say bye bye.

we took cole to the beach today, ocean grove beach of course! he was a little hesitant about the waves, but had fun splashing and playing in the sand. next summer we really have to take him more!

today was my first solo wedding as a photographer! it was a great day and such a beautiful wedding. we know the couple and cole even came along. however, this cupcake table about killed me and cole! i couldn't keep up with keeping cole away from the cupcakes and cole was going to end up in a sugar coma!

we took one day trip to seattle. of course cole visited pike place market and ate some yummy food. but a trip to seattle just isn't a trip with out a stop to the space needle. we went to the space needle and looked at it then enjoyed the rides at the bottom of it!

cole and i took a trip with grandma kay to go visit aunt mary. cole did really well on the very looong flight out there. it helped that we were able to fly first class though!! aunt marys house was beautiful and cole's dream home. it came equipped with a pool, lots of rocks, and even horses! there was even time to have some baths in the sink. on eof his favorite parts of the trip though was the place we ate at near the local airport. he was able to eat and watch the planes and jumpers all at the same time!

today we got to go for our first appointment for the new baby, pumpkin! we were able to see the heartbeat during the ultrasound which is always a great relief. first they said the due date was january 30th, but changed it just to february 1st.

first of all i am so SORRY that i am sooo behind in updating the blog. i've been trying to use my old camera more so that i get more everyday pictures of cole. but i've been having issues with it. anyway in the beginning of june cole and i went to visit our family and friends in georgia. it was so hot, reminding me why i hated the heat there. but its so hard to see everyone there and have to leave them again. here is some of our pictures from the trip:

today on our family vacation we took cole to dutch wonderland. its a little amusement park with rides just for little kids. he had a great time. they had the frog jumper ride which he again loved. he wanted to go on it several times.

on our first night in hershey we decided to go straight to the park. it was a blast. they had a great selection of rides cole was able to go on. he had a lot of fun going on the rides and even went on a bunch by himself! the green dinosaur was his first ride ever by himself!

today we went on a little trip to the popcorn zoo. this zoo is great! its run my the humane society and you get to feed all the animals popcorn. everyone had such a good time!

we went to shark river park with uncle jon and auntie brooke. cole had a blast. he tried everything out. he thought uncle jon was the coolest! however hes still not so sure about the slide. he rolls over on his belly to go down each time.

three of us moms took our kids to the zoo today. i know, i know we were just there. BUT we love it there! cole had a blast again, especially with his friends. towards the end of this trip though he got a bit grumpy. hes never good with no nap. he still needs those two naps a day.

i bought him this "leash" in the hopes of keeping him nearby me when he wants to walk. LOL. he wants to walk himself!

to celebrate mothers day we went to the zoo! it was our first trip of the year and cole had a lot of fun. he did a lot of walking, because hes a big boy and can! we had lunch in the little play area they have and cole was so distracted he only took a quick minute to woof his hot dog down. he was so proud of himself because hes always hesitant to go through tunnels but today he was brave enough to crawl through!

today was our first outdoor play date. cole is so happy the weather is getting nicer. he constantly wants to be outside! he absolutely loved the water table so much, i think we may have to gt him one. all of his little girl friends were playing so nice with him. next thing i knew cole had climbed into the table to play fully dressed. needless to say the girls left him and he was stripped down and spent just about the rest of his time there pouring water on himself.

this weekend we went to nj to celebrate easter with everyone. it was a really great trip! cole got some thomas the train trains from the easter bunny and he hasn't put them down since. the weathr was so great we were able to take him down to the boardwalk and onto the rides there. he was pretty serious about most of the rides. im not sure why, but he wasn't really his goofy self.

after church today we went to the easter egg hunt. cole enjoyed chasing easter eggs around, but he also kept wanting to pick up pine cones. we kept taking the eggs out of his bag and throwing them back on the ground for him to find, because all of the other kids had got all the eggs. in the end i think cole only got three eggs but they lasted him for awhile.

since brad had today off we decided to dye our easter eggs. cole had a good time. he was a bit rough with the eggs though and did crack some as he was dying them. he thought it was a much better idea to throw the egg into the dye cup rather then put it in gently. we mad an egg for each of us plus a bunch more. he was covered in dye, but luckily it came right off of him at swimming thanks to the chlorine!

today we took cole to his first movie! we went to see monsters vs. aliens with ella and bridget. cole LOVED it! he sat in his own chair, on the booster seat for just about the whole movie. he sat on my lap for some of it. cole would point and look at us each time the scene changed and babble in disgust until it came right back on. he also really enjoyed eating twizzlers and had a huge red ring around his mouth at the end of the movie!

cole has been really enjoying music. he will dance to anything. he dances to his toys that make music, or if we sing, or if he hears a car drive by with radio loud.
he's also getting a lot better at more independent play. he will play with toys for more than 3 seconds at a time now, which gives me some time to breathe and do other things which is nice. hes so independent he has to be the one to hold the ice on his boo-boos now!

cole loves his bed. he often will tell us its time to go to bed by saying up to his crib. when he wakes up he almost always will play in his crib for awhile before calling "mama". whenever we go in to get him he calls for "aggie" to come too. lately though when i go in to get him he says "book". i will give him a book and he will sit in his crib and read each page.

science center

we took cole to the science center since brad had the day off. cole had a really good time investigating things. some of it was too old for him but he had fun just the same.

cole has finally decided that using a fork and spoon isn't so bad after all. however sometimes he thinks his hands are still the way to go, especially if it is something yummy and he just cant wait to eat it!

worlds end

today we took cole to worlds end state park. he had so much fun. he played on the slide and swings. he checked everything out. picked out the rocks and sticks he liked best. but the best part of cole's visit to the park was throwing rocks into the creek. he giggled every single time and was not happy when to leave the rock throwin when it was time to go home. we are so glad the weather is getting warmer FINALLY.

er trip

today was a busy day. we played some, shopped some, and went to dushore since my car was due there in the morning to be checked out for problems. i put cole down for bed and he went to sleep like usual. about 2 hours later cole woke up screaming. he was screaming so loud and wouldn't stop. i ended up having to call the doctor after 45 minutes of him screaming and not being able to calm him. he had to take him to the er, which is a hour drive from dushore. he screamed the whole way. then we had to wait at the er for 2 hours before they would see us even though he was screaming and the waiting room had only one other person besides us. our poor baby has a double ear infection. he was so tired when we got home he finally went to sleep. today hes a sleepy sick little man. he only falls asleep on us when he's sick, but it's so sweet when it happens.

cole has become a big helper. he likes to help sweep and dust. he sometimes helps to clean up his toys and put his dirty laundry in the hamper. today brad needed to replace the belt on our vacuum and cole was right by his side to provide excellent assistance, even maggie helped out!

yesterday we finally had coles 15 month check up! it was nearly 3 months late, because the doctors office had to keep rescheduling. the visit went well. cole is so good with the doctor he sits very still while the doctor checks stuff. the doctor said cole is doing great. hes tall and a skinny little thing, but just perfect for him. he was impressed with his appetite, even though i was a little worried its slowed down. we asked him about potty training and he said we could introduce him to it but not push him on it. so today we showed him his potty. he woke up from his nap dry so he sat him on his potty and he went pee-pee on the potty! my little boy is growing up. he went pee-pee within a minute of sitting on the potty. he's turning into a big boy!

cole got his first black eye on the trip to jersey! i'm not really sure exactly when or how you got it. however i think he may have had a run in with the dogs.

shark river park

on my trip to new jersey cole and i were lucky enough to spend lots of time with family. however i didn't take many pictures. i only have a few, and i have no idea why i didn't take more. im kicking myself for it now.
auntie brooke and i took cole to shark river park today. it was a really nice day out but a little chilly in the shade. cole had a blast playing with auntie brooke!

boston children's musem

after a nap we headed straight to the children's museum to let cole loose. he has a really great time. it was three floors of imaginery play and all kinds of new things to explore. he had a blast running around and playing. i was pretty proud of him too. he is doing a great job at sharing with others.

grandma tried to show cole how to climb through the tunnel, but he had no interest.

he loves to play in the water any chance he gets.

i'd say his play kitchen is his fave, but his second fave item are train tables. he loves them!
